Got the fantastic news that BRBG is a Bestseller... within ONE month of its launch... and now is going into a second print run...!!! (BTW before you get too excited... bestseller, in India, means 5000 copies sold. I know the benchmark is a trifle low, but, believe me, that is an issue I'm not complaining about :-))
Needless to say, I'm thrilled. This has exceeded our expectations by far... expectations that have been tempered by the fact that BRBG is a so called "campus" novel by an unpublished author. So to all the folks out there involved in any way in the process - from the buyers to the distributors, the publishers, the bookstores, the printers, the designers and reviewers, a heartfelt thanks from me.

Congrats Anirban!
continue the good work...
Awesome man...now we have to do a similar thing in the musical arena ;)
i bought "keep off the grass" just because that is also a 'best seller'
but that book has disappointed me (same joint same drinking stuff )
i hope you haven't done the same :D
Rock...
I certainly hope the book wont disappoint you. If I can offer any reassurance it isn't about drinking or drugs...
Let me know what you think after reading it!!!
I wish you had disguised the story a bit better and made it less autobiographical. I mean the main character even has the same initials as you (Adityamaan Bhatt, Anirban Bose).
Also, I kinda felt the amount of story you had didn't really fit the time scale of the book. There wasn't enough to go around for all 5 years (or was it 4?) of MBBS. You could maybe have done a first two years in medical kind of timeline (although I think then the characters would not have become interns in 2 years).
And it's also unrealistic that the Sikh guy could travel on the air ticket of the other guy (I don't remember the specifics of who flew on whose ticket). That's just not allowed by any airline.
No offence to you, but I didn't really like your book all that much overall. I hope you do better next time. I'm still rooting for you. There are too few Indian authors that write English books for ordinary people. (Apart from you I can only really think of Chetan Bhagat and even he's only written one actually good book) Good luck.
